Fancy a trip to Brighton ?
The vintage village
The first impression when you arrive in Brighton is that it is a big village where craftsmen, small second-hand shops, thrift shops, snacks and seaside are mixed.
Brighton is best known for its Pier, a funfair set up on the pier at the edge of the water. But by walking a little more in the Lanes and north of this neighborhood, there are real small treasures. Shops filled with rock vinyls, pin’s and second-hand clothes, street art on the walls, lots of protest posters in the streets but also on the windows of the houses. The inhabitants are very involved in the environmental cause, and it is rather difficult to find a restaurant that does not offer vegan option. For my part, Brighton was particularly gluten-free! There was gluten-free absolutely everywhere. I had prepared a list of places to eat, and after all, it was a daydream to be able to eat without asking questions!
Trip to Brighton
Take breakfast at My Coffee Story listening to seventies soul music. Go stroll through the thrift shops of the Lanes. Unveil a pair of old school glasses and claiming pins. Take shots at the photobooth with a Catwoman mask. Discover the Egg Royale (salmon toast with boiled egg and hollandaise sauce) at Mange Tout. Stroll on the seaside and take a big slap of sea wind. Go to Brighton Pier and sunbathe on a lounger. Eat a good gluten-free burger at Honest Burgers. Have a drink at Seven Stars under its glazed vegetal roof. Go sing your throat out on a karaoke at Ye Olde King and Queen.
Old school baby
You’ve understood, little crush for this human-sized city, where I found my deep roots: indie rock, sea, English language, not to mention the neons and bricks!
Add a couple of skaters, photography and a sunset and you make me the new wedding photographer in town!
You can also find a couple photoshoot done in Brighton in this article.
By the way, if you intend to get married in England, let me know, I would be so crazy to have that luck!
Let’s go !
I let you discover the images of the different neighborhoods of Brighton.
Obviously, we start with the Brighton Pier, and we will dig deeper into the soul of this city with the neighborhoods of Kemptown and the Lanes.
And if you like English escapes, I invite you to read this article during my trip to London: Hipster engagement session in Shoreditch.
